Buses from Faro Airport with Bus Routes and Times

A number of bus lines serve the airport and travel between the terminal and the main bus terminal in the center of Faro. The distance Faro buses have to cover is just 4 km, so the journey only takes 20 minutes and at just EUR 2.00 per person it isn't very expensive either.

From the EVA bus terminal passengers have a choice of coach services that serve other parts of the Algarve and the remainder of Portugal. Online time table information about Faro buses can be obtained at www.eva-bus.com or by emailing to clientes@eva-bus.com. Generally, Faro Airport buses travel between the airport and city center between the hours of 5.00 am and 11.15 pm every day with additional services being available on weekdays during busy periods.

During very early morning the service operates at 45 minute intervals, but from 7.00 am onwards buses from the airport run every ten minutes into central Faro's Avenida da Republica, where the main bus terminal is located. The bus terminal's ticket counters are open from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm every day. It is possible to buy a 3-day tourist pass, which makes travelling around by public transport much easier, as the ticket enables tourists to just hop and off at their leisure without the need to hunt for loose change each time.

Buses from the airport interconnect with the long-distance coach services offered from the central bus terminal in Faro. Coaches run to destinations in the Algarve, but also cross the border into neighbouring country Spain. In the other direction such buses cover Albufeira, Portimão, Lagos and Aljesur.

The Algarve to Seville service from EVA bus terminal leaves Faro for Olhão, V.R.S. Antonio, Ayamonte, Huelva and eventually Seville. In Seville the coach drops passengers off at the main bus terminal located in Plaza de Armas.

Buses from the airport into the city center include Urbana line 14, the Atalaia, Avenida, Praia de Faro service, which runs via the airport and also Urbana line 16, which leaves the central bus terminal with the first service at 7.00 am and travels via Praia de Marchil, Montenegro, and to Praia de Faro. The total journey takes around 25 minutes.

Buses from Faro Airport also include private shuttle services, which are comfortable and convenient and get cheaper the more people share. A single person ticket for a return journey between the airport and Faro center costs approximately £38.

A shared shuttle service makes the journey from the airport to the resort of Albufeira, which is 46 km distance from the airport, rather cheap at a one-way ticket for just under £5. With a private taxi transfer the same journey would cost EUR 64.00 for up to four people. The return journey by private transfer from Faro to Lagos would be a little more expensive at £126 per person.

Portugal is incidentally on the same time zone with the UK and Ireland (GMT) and English is widely spoken in the country, making it even easier for tourists from these countries to find their way around in Portugal.
